Promoting a Sustainable Climate
Transition for Cypriot Museums
The kick-off meeting of the ClimAid project was held on June 19th 2025, and took place at the premises of the CYENS Centre of Excellence, the project’s Host Organisation.
The meeting brought together the entire ClimAid team from all partner organizations — the CYENS CoE, the Deputy Ministry of Culture (Department of Contemporary Culture) and Pepiopsis — to initiate collaboration, align priorities, and outline the first stages of implementation.
During the meeting, the consortium discussed the project’s overarching vision, the work plan, and explored ways to integrate interdisciplinary methods for assessing climate-related risks in Cypriot museums. The participants also shared insights informed by their diverse disciplinary backgrounds and explored collaborative strategies to ensure that the project yields truly interdisciplinary outcomes.
Special attention was given to fostering active collaboration between academia, governmental bodies, and the cultural sector, as well as to ensuring the participatory ethos that underpins the project.
This inaugural gathering set a strong foundation for the work ahead, marking the beginning of an ambitious effort to promote a sustainable climate transition for museums across Cyprus.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the project progresses!
